Swirlz
Life management for the swirly.
Swirlz turns forwarded school and activity emails into short briefs: the dates, the forms to return, the people to contact. It also keeps your family's to-do lists, routines and notes. Swirlz signs you in with Google so it can create and manage its own folder in your Google Drive, where your records live.
Signing up uses the same Google sign-in and creates a folder in your own Google Drive; your notes and records live there, in your account. New accounts are approved by hand, usually within a day.
Swirlz is free while it's being built - developed daily - and will be $7/month or $49/year once it launches properly.
What Swirlz does
Swirlz is a web app that helps a parent stay on top of school and household admin. You forward a school, medical or activity email to your Swirlz address and it comes back as a short brief listing the dates, the forms to return and the people to contact. Swirlz connects to your Google account so that everything it creates is stored in your own Google Drive rather than on our servers.
Why Swirlz asks for Google access
- Google Drive
- Creates one Swirlz folder and keeps your notes, attachments and recordings in it. Nothing else in your Drive is read or changed.
- Google Sheets
- Stores to-do lists, routines and settings as spreadsheets in that folder, so the data stays readable without this app.
- Google Docs
- Writes longer notes and summaries as documents in the same folder.
Swirlz keeps pointers to those files, not their contents. Delete the folder and the data is gone; there is no second copy. The privacy policy has the full detail.
