What Swirlz is
Swirlz ("Swirlz") is a personal documentation and journaling tool for people navigating divorce and high-conflict co-parenting. It helps you record events, take notes, and organize tasks. Your content is stored in your own Google Drive. Swirlz does not retain it.
Not legal advice
Swirlz is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. The records you create with Swirlz may or may not be useful in a court proceeding. Whether a particular record is admissible, persuasive, or appropriate to share with your attorney is a decision for you and a licensed legal professional in your jurisdiction. Any guidance text in the app (for example in the Help section) is general best practice, not legal advice.
Your content, your responsibility
By using Swirlz, you agree that:
- You own the content you create. Swirlz claims no rights to your journal entries, event records, photos, audio, or transcripts.
- You are responsible for what you record. Do not record people without consent where the law in your jurisdiction requires it. Do not record content that is illegal to capture (for example, two-party consent jurisdictions).
- You are responsible for backing up records that matter. Swirlz writes to your Google Drive; if you accidentally delete the folder, the records are gone. The Records archive in the Coparenting section saves the text of those records to your device; it does not contain your photos, voice memos, or call audio. To keep the media files themselves, download the Swirl App folder from Google Drive or use Google Takeout. Consider Drive's version history and your own backups as well.
- You will not use Swirlz to harass, defame, or harm another person, or to fabricate evidence.
Account access
Sign-in is via Google OAuth. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure. Swirlz access to your Drive is scoped to files Swirlz created; we cannot read other Drive files. You can revoke our access at any time at your Google Account permissions.
AI features
Some features (transcription, tag suggestion, summarization, event structuring) send your content to third-party AI providers (OpenAI Whisper, Anthropic Claude). The output of these models is generated and may contain errors, mischaracterizations, or hallucinated details. Always review AI-suggested content before relying on it. AI-generated summaries are suggestions, not facts about events.
Service availability
Swirlz is provided "as-is" without warranty. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We rely on third-party services (Google, Supabase, OpenAI, Anthropic, Vercel) and their availability is outside our control. Because your content lives in your own Drive, a Swirlz outage does not put your existing records at risk; you can read your Sheets and Doc directly in Google.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Swirlz and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of records, missed legal deadlines, or unfavorable case outcomes. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the service is to stop using it and delete your account.
Termination
You may delete your account by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or applicable law. On termination, the small profile record described in our Privacy Policy is deleted from our servers; your Drive content is unaffected and remains yours to keep or delete.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top reflects the most recent change. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
